    Cam swap, how hard?

Done head gaskets, timing belts, etc. Just never attempted a cam swap. How hard would it be? I have a SETA head, basically a 4 barring "I" head with a "E" cam. I would like to swap out the cam for a I one, and add some barrings. How difficult would this be? Would the gains be noticeable?

car is an 1987 325e with a SETA head.

you need to rip the head off and take everything out of it then rebuild it. could get a p&p well its out. won't make a huge difference but you might notice it.

An M20B25 engine, harness, DME, and AFM comes readily to mind.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
