323i Fouled a plug so it wouldnt fire in three days.

Hi guys, weird one for you.
My M20 323i started feeling REALLY unhappy - big vibrations, weird sound and quite slow.

I thought it might have dropped a cylinder so took it to a mechanic that had put new plugs in 3 days ago. Turned out that cylinder 6 had fouled the plug so bad it wouldnt spark.

Any idea what could cause this?

Also I think there is something weird going on with my feul pump, it makes a weird noise - sounds like an electric motor - when the engine is running. Could this be the reason it's fouling so easy?

Thanks guys and happy driving - E30s rule!

Did you take off the valve cover to check for broken rockers? Is there smoke coming from the exhaust yet?

runs fine on all six at the moment but I guess in a couple days the plug will foul again and not be able to spark. This rules out the broken rocker doesn't it?

Is it fouled with oil, gas, coolant? im going to take a guess and suggest that it could be a leaky / bad injector on that cyl. If you want to diagnose that, switch that injector to another cylinder and see if the other plug fouls.

well, with the back seat out it will sound like this

ask the mechanic if the plug was fouled with oil or gas
