91 318is driveshaft question

Will a driveshaft from a 91 318is bolt up to an 87 325i transmission?

AFAIK it's not the same one.
5 speed manual or Automatic ?

Seems to me that a 318's and 325's transmission are of different length. Which would suggest that you can't mix-n-match the drive shafts.

The early model 318s rock a 240 which is a shorter tranny so yes the driveshaft is longer. With an m42 I'm not sure if it's a getrag 260 or something else if it's a 260 it will bolt up to the m20 fine

turns out the m42 pushes a getrag 245. at least that is what i was told and that means no smooth bolt up. DAM IT

There is no "early model" 318is. 1991 was the only year. They use a Getrag 240. The 318is driveshaft is much longer than the 325i/is driveshaft.

when i said 318s i didn't mean 318is i meant 318's didn't mean an i or any thing just the 318 lol typo.
