    Will these injectors work?

I bought 19# ford injectors that look like this and are listed as working for BMW's m20 and m50 as well as others.

They don't seem to be quite right, but multiple sellers are listing them as correct and workable for my engine. The problem is they don't seem to 'snap' into place and they lack the below the for the metal clip that holds them onto the fuel rail. The ones that came out look similar to this one only with a plastic body instead of metal. You can see the clip above the electrical connector.

Has anybody used this (the first ones, yellow body) style with success? What worked?

They should work, but I don't think you use the little clip with them

oil the seals a little and push harder

I installed some on a buddys M20 without the metal clips and they work fine

        Excellent.

        God, I love the interwebz.

I suppose they are simply held in place with the bolts on the fuel rail and spite. Are they going to 'pop' into the rail or head, or do they simply rest, albeit quite snug?

They don't really "pop" in but they should be pretty snug when they're all the way in. Once the fuel rail is bolted in they should be held down firmly enough. Rub just a tiny bit of oil on the O-rings.

I applied some medium downward pressure on the fuel rail with a pry bar while I snugged the bolts to ensure they would be under some kind of tension and as far down as possible. I was able to use the clips after all. I don't know if they will do anything, but at least they are in place for the future.

            Thanks guys!
