    fuel delivery problem

I had a problem with this when we first put the rebuilt m20 in, but now its just sticking around.

it just doesn't want to start on its on without me giving it some gas, like it doesn't want to prime? i'm not sure could it just be a bad relay?

once its running for more than a minute its fine no problem just when starting.

also i get a check engine light on after i drive for a little then sit at a stop light or something it will come on and if i give it the smallest amount of gas it will go away. any ideas on that?

    thanks

Both the hard cold starts and CEL are more likely to be caused by an intake leak than by a fuel problem.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Any luck with the fix? I've got something just like this going on with my IX and I haven't figured it out yet.

Regarding the check engine light, my 89 had the exact same issue. Turned out to be a vacuum leak from a couple bad fuel injector o-rings. Just make sure all hoses in and around the intake manifold are crack free. You may want to consider replacing the intake manifold gaskets while you're at it if they've never been replaced.
