    DME Question

So I did a stomp test tonight and got a 1211 code. I already know what it means but I have a weird situation.

The code indicates that I should replace the DME but my car runs fine and everything. It just has a constant CEL.

Any ideas what I should do?

    TIA

Just in case that is the result of a transient fault. Disconnect the battery for a minute. Then start the car and let it run for 30 seconds, shut it off, wait 30 seconds, and check for the fault. If still present, replace the DME.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

i didnt disconnect the battery but I DID do the on for 30 seconds and off for 30 seconds then tried the test again and got the same code.

        And Stephen, I have a 173 ecu.

definately swap it for another one. If you find a good lead on where to get a good 173, please give me a heads up, I need one as well.

Yep, that is to do a hard reset of the DME.

Yep. Disconnect the battery for a minute to completely reset the DME.
