Some questions about performance chips. Please help

I have read up on some other forums and heard that the ebay chips actually work. Since I am not making a track car or anything, I figured for $40 I'm going to buy one and try it out. Question #1 is where is the ecu located so I can change it. #2 is what chip should i get(173, 027, etc.)? I have read in other forums that 173 is the best so will I be able to get this one and put it on my ecu no matter what number it ends in?

    Thanks for your help.

The DME is above the glove box, get the chip that matches your DME. I'd recommend just getting a chip straight from the producer as to not fuck over the person that put hours of work into it.

Have you made a purchase from www.blunttech.com recently?

if you buy a copied version for $40, the person that put in work to get that chip made gets $0 for it. The person that copied the chip lost the $220 or whatever to buy an original, but made 50 copies for a few more cents. Then they sell them for $40 each. Really, it's against the law to do it, so if you just buy it from whoever really made it, nobody would be copying them in the first place.

yeah you need to look at your DME and see which one you have. its probably a 173 but you need to check. i wouldnt bother with ebay chips, if you cant save a couple hundred bucks for a genuine chip, you dont need it. they dont do much for "i" cars anyway.

dinan is having a sale right now i paid 170 for mine i know its still expensive. my teacher bought an ebay chip and he said it was a night and day difference... look at it this way IF you did happen to buy a cheap one two outcomes, one you get a good chip and feel a difference and love it for cheap or two you get a bunk chip but hey you only lost $40 not $240!
