idle problem

i know these m20 engines are about 20 yrs old and they're not perfect but recently i installed turner motorsport chip... car runs great but idle is definitely worse than before. could it have anything to do with the chip? Before it would only idle high when its cold then acts normal. now it bounces back and forth between half a grand and a grand MOST of the time. there are those rare times that its steady. i cleaned the ICV which some say i shouldnt have. no luck. Any insight or advice is greatly appreciated.

get a new or different used icv, and check your boot fron the airfilter box afm to the tb.
