    Seized engine need some advice

So my engine has 22XXXX miles on it, and I was coming home for the holidays, and pretty sure my engine seized on me. I had just gotten off a twisty portion where I had tapped fuel cut, and then was merging into traffic, where i started to accelerate and it starting whining really loud, coming from the engine. so i pull off the side of the road, it is still running, shut it off. Then call a tow truck. They come and pick it up, I check the rockers (hoping it was them cause that would be a snap), not the rockers, check spark plugs, no signs of anything. Try to start it, no go. Pretty sure the engine is messed up, cylinder head looks to be in good shape.

So what are my options? I have about 800$ i can use to fix this thing. The head/intake/oilpan/ stuff is all good. I was thinking of pulling the engine and confirming it is Fawked, and then begin the repair process. Only have a month before school starts, so I would like to be done with this asap. Possibly a running 2.7l swap?
    What would you guys do?

    Motor

You obviously need to find out the motor problem and then make a decision, m20's are easy to rebuild. I have a rebuilt 2.7 LMK
    Good Luck

where would i start? I have ruled out rocker arms, which I was hoping it was. when the engine starting making the noise the oil light came on (on the dash). Next thing im gonna do is check the starter. Then what?

start by tearing the whole motor apart, oil light is usually a bad sign

So if you're checking the starter I assume that it doesn't even turn over correct? You must have really been tossing that shit around to have bad enough oil starvation to actually seize the engine though. jeez

Yay it doesn't even try to turn over. It was a long trip and I was just getting into town on a road i knew, tapped fuel cut, then came to a stop. Then merging onto a busy street started accelerating and it let go. Luckily had the gf with me who had AAA. I need to get that, saved my ass a few times.

if the oil light came on you probably lost oil pressure. maybe your oil pump failed. is this an m20?

So no clicking from the starter solenoid even? you should at least hear it engaging.

what do you mean "it let go"? in your original post you said it started whining and you shut it off. which is it?

turn signal fluid. 99% chance that's it, as its connected directly to the rocker arms.

No no. Its not even turning over, it must be the johnson rod.
