    Wtf smf dmf ??? M20 &&& m50

    Never mind the coffee effect, I've been searching and reading Bentley for half the day and still can't find it...

    I'm trying to figure what came what cars came with SMF and what came with DMF flywheels, It looks like there was a change about 1986, do M20 325i's have an SMF? I know my superetta parts car had a DMF, but I thought the '87 2.5i engine I pulled years ago was SMF, was it just ettas with DMF? The 2.5i did come from a 1987 325is.

    Now for the M50/S50/M52/S52, before I tear everything apart, or go diging in the junkyard I'd like to know where I'll find an SMF and where I'd find a DMF, I plan to search soon

    This place is like catholic school, 2/3 of the students smoke weed on a daily basis, but the faculty seems to convince the outside world that drugs are just in the other schools, the resident pot dealer thinks he's cool because he has the originality to call anyone he doesn't like a homosexual, and most of the little children follow him like sheep, then there's the few with brains, you hardly ever hear from them, perhaps don't even know they exist, but they get all the sh!t done.

    Seems to me that all M20B25 engines had the single mass flywheel and all M20B27 engines had the dual mass.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

        the early ETAs (85 and 86 i think) had a single mass setup. the 87+ had dual mass. all i engines were single mass.

          Two others and I have answered this question in full in the other section you posted it in and seemed to forget about. Please do not cross-post the same thread between sections and add to the clusterfuck.

            Please note that this was posted first and has no information on the M50 to this date, had I recieved practical information on the M50 there would be no need to ask elsewhere, the M50 question was asked in the M50 forum, and as I have both engines in running vehicles, no more clusterfuck.
