    1986 2.7 to 1990 2.0 Engine Swap scheduled for March 1, 2010

    Gentlemen and others,

March 1, 2010 I will begin to swap an engine from an automatic (1990 2.5 325is) into my (1986 2.7 325e). I will be using the I computer and wiring harness which I think is pretty straight forward. I will also need an early model water pump to put on the late model engine. My confusion is what about the flywheel. I understand that I will need a single mass flywheel from an I car.

Will I be able to use my e clutch on the I single mass flywheel since the E is a dual mass flywheel?

Will my E transmission work ok with the I setup since the I engine is coming from an automatic?

Please tell me anything else I will need before I begin this swap on March 1, 2010.

I am thinking about going ahead and installing the Mark D chip with 19# injectors as well.
