I will get a can of starting fluid when I go to pick up my new brake pads today,

@IRON-E what do you mean by bucking?

I will try testing the wires, checking the CPS wire, spraying all the intake boot meetings and injectors etc.

    i'll report back soon :)

    thanks again everyone!

i recommend just listening first. let your car idle and get in there with your ear as close as possible. you may be able to hear the leak. at the same time, tug at vacuum tubes, intake boot, manifold, etc. if you hear a change in idle, you're getting closer.

I have already done that to an extent, there is a noise that could be a leak or it could just be a cold valve train, I think I have exhausted the audible options at this point, moving to cleaning the valve and trying to track down the leak.

I'll be back in about an hour to start tracking the problem

plug wires were all fine, cleaned the ICV, found almost nothing.

when I spray carb cleaner on zyl.6's intake runner by the injector the motor's idle goes up a little

I will post a video of it in a few minutes

Initially I too was under the same impression but after testing and replacing all the small things related to air leaks or fuel leaks, that's where my problem laid.

Almost as if it's a horse out of control or a sputtering like your video shows. I didn't get to see it (video) the first time I responded but one of my buddies swore it couldn't be the CPS and replacing that, has kept my car on the roads with no problems to report for the past week and a half.

I guess it could be described as that, yeah. but only when its cold - watch this video and see if that helps

yup congrats, you found your leak.

i dont think it's the CPS because all your symptoms disappear with increased throttle opening... it screams vacuum leak.

so, this would be the intake gasket on that zyl then?

damn, that doesn't sound like fun to replace.

in the gasket or more likely the injector o-ring

do I have to pull the full rail off to pull that one injector?

can the fuel rail be taken off with the I.M. seated?

answered my own question the fuel rail with an extensive google crawl

should I just buy new o-rings, lube em' up and slap them on or should I just buy some ford 19lb injectors that are re manufactured?

seems to be about a $60 difference in price but then again, they are higher output and my injectors are 233k so it might be time :)

sorry to thread jack but i think i have almost the exact same problem. My engine will run 100% fine after its been driven for about 20min. Would this also be a vacuum leak? i had a cps go bad on me not to long ago and i replaced it with a used one. it seems like it misfires when idling and at wot around 4k.
Also i have new plugs wires and disszy cap.
