Replacing breather hose with breather filter? safe?

right, my breather pipe is shot and i could replace it with a new item but im building an intake from the TB to the AFM and them on to the filter and may do away with the ICV or alter the plumbing slightly.

what i want to know is will fitting a breather filter to the rocker cover cause any potential warpage/cracking problems in the head or rocker cover? i wouldnt think so and it hasnt on any previous cars i have fitted one to but just wanting to check before i go ahead and fit one and block off the breather hose port on the side of the TB.

as for the possible ICV delete.. my ICV is playing up randomly and i have a road trip to go on tomorrow so i have temporarily unplugged it and blocked it up and set the throttle butterfly set screw so the car will hold an idle, checked it with nothing on and again with everything on and it doesnt drop too low. going to see how it does on the trip and how it runs from cold tomorrow morning. if it runs like it does at present with it blocked off ill probably delete the ICV. anyway enough about the ICV... what about a breather filter?

These engine exhale a good bit of oil vapor out of the valve cover. You'll probably find it necessary to run the connection from the valve cover to a catch can before the breather.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

was thinkin that also.. just assumed that with no vacuum from the intake to suck the vapour out it wouldnt need a catch can.

actually now that i think of it thats probably what ill do.. run a line from the cover to a catch can and then a filter or just run the other side of the can to the intake. basically just want to stop the vapour going into the intake tbh.

Blow by doesn't require applied vacuum to blow by. Vacuum reduces blow by.
