Is Carb/Parts Cleaner okay to use on our M20 pistons?

I heard mixed reviews on this topic so i would like to put it to rest and clean my pistons.

So, Is Carburator/Parts cleaner okay to use on pistons if you soak overnight?

i honestly do not see why not. those piston deal with the heat/pressure/stress of the combustion chamber, a soak in solvent shouldn't really chemically change anything in the metal.

I heard that it can mess with the coating on the piston
