    idle, but no idle?

    my problem is this.
i can hear the car idle. and my idel control valve makes noise as if air were leaking out...

but on my cluster the rpm's stay and dosent bounce up and down...??

the tachometer isn't sensitive enough to show a rough idle

m20s tend to idle a bit rough anyway, at least all of mine have

if the speed isn't bouncing too much and it isn't shaking the car apart, there's not much you can do

I managed to find out that it wasnt the control valve...

my first guess would be vacuum leaks. start replacing hoses. what did you do to make it idle at 2k now? mess with the ICV?

well yeah i thought that was the problem, so swaped it for my dads. and its the icv because mine works great on his car...and since then the car idles at 2k...could it be a intake gasket leak? i almost hear no air leaks(than again the engine was r3ved to 2k)

mines doing the same thing, I just replaced the intake mani gaskets and its not better and what a pain in the ass that was. I was thinking maybe its a bad afm. Im getting an oxygen sensor code and my check engine light comes on at idle. Right before the high idle it started with a rough idle, its almost as if the computer tried to correct its rough idle by running at a higher rpm.
