    Calling all 2.7i members

As the title says, chime in if you had done the 2.7i swap. List what parts you used for the upgrade (ETA us or euro pistons, SETA pistons, if you changed your rearend or not, etc.) And what are you impressions of the finished product is. Any videos would be nice too.

Search button is your friend. There's a pretty comprehensive write up floating around.

If you're looking for lots of power but want to stay M20, I suggest custom pistons and honing/boring.

    Basics are 885 ("I") head, 173 ECU, wire harness, "I" taco-meter, "I" intake, "I" ICV, "I" throttle body, "I" fuel rail...
    Need a part? PM me.

A guy on e30tech told me you could just bolt on a I head to the E block. That didn't seem to add up to some things that members on here said. I just went with a I swap instead. Anybody expand on this?

I've searched and spent a lot of time reading write ups on it. I was just trying to see how many people have done it on here and what their thoughts were.

I just slipped in a eta block.
          Nothing fancy.

Everyone says "put an 885 head on an ETA block" but in reality you are putting an ETA block under an i engine. I like mine NA, but really built it for FI. If you have an ETA do it. If you have an i it isn't worth it.

There are too many threads like this one. Take an hour at least to look around at them first. In short yes the Eta block can be bolted up to the I top end, but it will not yield you the most power. Mine is quick, but I don't think it was as fast as my I car past 4k RPMs. When I did my swap I used a thread that has all the measurements and combination's that you could use from stock parts. Take a look for it!

I have an eta, and just about all the parts I would need to do the swap from a parts car. I need to double check but I think all I need is the valve that hooks to the intake tube, mine is currently on the intake manifold, I never can remember what it's called. A headgasket and head studs....I need to just gather the rest of the parts and do it. Thanks for the input.
