    misfiring and dying

So this weekend I put on a used set of plug wires, but in better condition than the ones that were on the car. The next day the car started stumbling and misfiring like a motherfucker. If I pull the wire on the number 6 wire that goes to under the diagnostic connector tight, it smooths out and revs up fine. disconnecting the wire after it smoothed out didnt change anything. ideas?

yeah, order is right. it ran fine until the day after. i'm wondering now if my valve cover is too lose. i put the loom under the two valve cover nuts, apparently they're supposed to go over them and use two other nuts to hold it down. i've never had one that wasnt broken so i didnt know this. :|
