Ok, how did you get the trans disconnected? Bently omits that entire part when explaining how to pull the M20, and from what I gather the torx bolts on top of the bellhousing need removed, but there is no room to get a torx wrench in there.

Pull it all as one unit OR if you plan on taking the head out, take the head/manifold OFF and then pull the bottom end with tranny as one unit.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

Im pulling the motor because every gasket is leaking. Head gasket, oil pan gasket, that gasket by the timing cover, some kind of fluid dripping from the bellhousing, hell there is even a leak at the oil filter. Im just going to rip it out and have the head rebuilt.
(Why not drop in a 24v? Cause im broke as hell, thats why!)

Pull the tranny as one unit. It really is the easiest.
I just replaced the engine in my car, I would not even want to try it any other way.
I just jacked the cherry picker all the way up, then had a friend lift up on the backside of the tranny to clear the core support.

take the throttle body off and run the chain through the intake. works great. thats how i have pulled most of my motors. it evens out the pull and just is way easier than trying to use the front pully and exhaust stud. and what NC said is true. if you pull the ac condenser before pulling the motor its way easier. Personally i would rather pull the condenser than disconnect the tranny

I just disconnected the condenser and power steering and just bungie tied them out of the way, I didnt want to have to reacharge the AC system.Randall Racing and Engineering

Well it didnt come out last night, I couldnt get the driveshaft disconnected due to the trans cross-brace in the way, so thats going to have to come out first. Also, I dont know if its auto exclusive, but there are a couple trans fluid lines that run to the radiator that looked like they would be bent when I start pulling the motor, so I disconnected them from the trans. I got the linkage disconnected alright, but I was told there was a wire for the reverse light, which I still cant locate.
