    Don't shave it, stroke it.

I went down the road as far as i could on building a budget with shaving... could not get anyone willing to do it. Keep in mind i wanted them shaved to original top "swirl" dome. A local engine guy was willing to "try" and build to what i wanted, but at $600 and no definitive to what they would come out like... nah. So, after more searching i found the m52 conversion.
    It's:
    M52 crank__84(42)
    b27 rod____130
    b25 piston__34.2
this gets me to 206.2 (which is even with block "deck height"), 2.9 CU, and as phelix from bimmerforums so nicely calculated should get me 9.3 CR.
    So...
Just bought m52 84mm crank. I will follow "Winfreds" http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthr...ht=my+sickness thread. He has done this already. I won't be going with exactly the same.
    I plan on:
    *272 cam
    *19# injectors
*Miller MAF and war chip combo
    *port matching
    *headers (inexpensive set)

As this will never see a track, maybe a 1/8 miler (just for fun), ultimately it will be an around the towner fun car.
I was "-__-" this close to giving her to my daughter. Now that i am back on track for a little sporty... i'll keep her and fix her up.

Just wanted to continue the saga of the build. From the shaving idea to now trying a real stroker.

Thanks to everyone who gave insiteful information up to now. I hope i can continue to recieve it from here on out.

    Thanks,

    Robert

You'll need a spacer for the front of the crank. Someone was selling them a while back check the FS section he might still have a few, that or get one made by a machine shop.

Shave it, then stroke it. Feels better.

If you still have the pulley flange from the M52 crank it can be turned down on a lathe to make the spacer. Send me a PM with your email and I'll send you the drawing.
