Junkyard? Do you mean that it is NLA or that they don't stock it and can order it in if needed?

Wait you said bolt. Now I remember, that thing does have a bigass bolt with a toothed head. Nevermind.

The p/s adjuster nut is the same as the alternator adjuster nut.
At least on my M20 it is...sigpic

On my early car it's a single piece, a 19mm (or maybe 17mm) bolt with teeth where a washer typically would be and threaded at the tip so you can lock it down with a 13mm.
OP: based on my personal experience, if you broke teeth on the bolt there's a good chance there are broken/stripped ones on the bracket as well. Unless you've already pulled the bracket, you may not be able to tell. Smart move is to get them both together, especially if you're looking to get the replacement(s) shipped to you.
Edit: Doh! I'm thinking of the alternator. It may or may not be the same as the one for the PS pump, but I'll check.Comment

I looked under its hood this morning and I think straight6pwr has it right for the PS pump. Mine looks to be a large nut capped/locked by a smaller one. At the angle I had I couldn't tell from looking down on it if it had any teeth; I didn't crawl under the car to see.Comment

I just had to order this from the dealer along with the toothed bracket. Only cost me like 10 bucks. It won't be in stock but barely anything for the e30 ever is. The piece you're referring to is called an "idler", and on later cars at least it slips onto the bolt.Comment
