    Auto stalls while driving, restarts on it's own.

    My buddies 88 325ic automatic will stall while driving at any speed completely at random. But then it will start right back up again without stopping and restarting the car. I haven't experienced this as I don't drive his car and those are all the details I have.

    Anyone heard of this?

    I was thinking intermittently bad fuel pump, but that wouldn't allow the car to refire under it's own power would it?

      A flaky main relay, bad CPS, or wiring fault could do this when the car is being driven.
      The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

          I'll start with the CPS as those are easy. Anyone know if the M20 and M42 CPS are interchangeable? I have several for M42's, none for M20's.
