    Alternator pulsing

So my alternator died 3 days ago. I replaced it with another one. The brand spanking new one is pulsing. My lights and all power related functions pulse very quickly. Any thoughts. I spoke with a bmw mechanic on the phone...he said likely a bad regulator in the alternator. Likely? Any suggestions. Oh, and i Rad an 8 guage ground for the alternator, so I know it's not that.

That is a bad regulator in the alternator. I'm going to guess that you bought a generic rebuilt rather than a factory rebuilt. The generics are iffy and you may have to go through several to get one that works. Been there, done that, and now I only use Bosch factory rebuilts for alternators or starters.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
