It all started Sun. afternoon returning home. It started as bucking, surging and stalling and I barely made it the half mile back to the house. After looking for the obvious defects I happened to pull the vac line to the FPR and fuel came surging out(not a good thing). After a couple of calls to the local parts places, one had a replacement for this fitment (BWS brand) and the part was replaced in the morning of the following day. On the initial startup the cars idle surged approximately between 450 to 900 rpm and was balky and sluggish on acceleration. After warmup was complete a few surges and stalls produced the inevitable CEL to illuminate and then, after a few miles were logged by the DME it cleared out and then settled into a high idle when not loaded (also is slow to return to idle speed on downshifting... NOT liking this at all). I had just recently accomplished a full tune up and had a new coolant temp sensor and coolant guage sender installed as well and the idle never went below 1000 rpm. I'm thinking that the full on hose replacement treatment may be necessary as well as the oil cap. My question is... Did any of the site members have any similar issues when a FPR was replaced?
