See, you think you didn't have a problem, but if you are off just a little bit, it well slowly goof up the cat til it is plugged, it's not an instant issue, then when you fix the cat, you will still have the issue that caused it in the first place.Leave a comment:

Yeah im going to try that and see what happens. I had some fun tonight the headers got a slight bit of red but not like few days ago. You think because I put some Lucas fuel stuff in on E and I could smell it it clogged the cat or fucked up the o2? I only drove like 2 miles to get gas but I could defiantly smell itsorry, i misread one of your earlier posts. i thought you had said you took off the muffler and it didnt improve. take off the whole rear exhaust section, that shouldn't be welded. you should be able to tell if the muffler is your problem, and/or see into the cat and see if that might be your problem.Leave a comment:

I havnt had problem since I did the head gasket lol, I did the head gasket allmost 3 months ago. and have had the muffler on maybe 2-3 weeks...If you go to an exhaust shop, it will take 20 min for them to put it on the lift and check if there is backpressure issues in the cat. After that, they may say replace it, and it might not be the root problem, but the effect of the engine running wrong since the head job.Leave a comment:

havnt taken the muffler off yet. Its welded onyes. timing would be my main suspect. ESP since you said you just did the head gasket. you may not have noticed the problem till you hit up the drift-track-parking-lot. it obviously isn't the muffler if you took it off and the problem persists... and i've seen cats break up inside and everything but never clog up bad enough to make the manifolds glow, but i imagine it is possible.Leave a comment:

I've blown cat innards out on the freeway because of a run rich and misfire issue.Leave a comment:

if it was just a clogged cat which is possible you would notice it before you got to red line, as said timing should be suspect because of the glowing exhaust manifolds, make sure your timing isnt way retarded. do a vacuum test on the car to check for exhaust restrictions, if nothing is found, check the timing.Leave a comment:

Or, the timing is off, you ran rich, filled the cat with furl, burned up said cat, pressure used melted cat stuff to plug exhaust when you get on the throttle, when there is not as much pressure, the chunks don't plug the hole.Leave a comment:

Timing is good man. I just did the head gasket like 3 months ago now and never had a problem till i put this muffler on.
You think from scraping my cat since my car is like uber low might fuck it up?
But yea On a side note, Im gett my uber money for my I head swap friday so who really care's lolLeave a comment:

fuel cut at 5200 rpm i think is stock. i dont remember. either way, how is getting 25mph a valid check of timing?Leave a comment:
