Feels good just my top end sucks since i had the muffler installed
I think its killing the flow. Since its a eta the stock piping is 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 single inlet and dual 2 tips. From what I read the muffler was for 1 into 2 , Maybe not? Maybe its for dual to single and thats why it flows like shit. It sounds fucking great but top end sucks.

it must be pretty bad if you can tell a loss in power at 4500+rpms on an eta. thats the redline, and those heads dont seem to make much power beyond 4000rpms anyway.

oh, and i vote clogged cat too. unless you fucked up your timing somehow.

Go look back at some of his posts related to timing. He left his m10 car's timing all fuct up and blew the HG.

cut the cat off, then put a resonator/muffler in its place.

Yea, check your o2 sensor voltage when the car is warm. if the value is less than .45volts it's running lean. Unless BMW uses a funky o2 sensor, the sensor goes between 0 and 1.1 volts with .45 volts being exactly lambda. It should not read .45 for more than a second because its always changing and that indicates a bad o2 sensor, and it running in open loop which could cause it to be lean since that is the factory tune.

fuel cut at 5200 rpm i think is stock. i dont remember. either way, how is getting 25mph a valid check of timing?

Timing is good man. I just did the head gasket like 3 months ago now and never had a problem till i put this muffler on.

You think from scraping my cat since my car is like uber low might fuck it up?

But yea On a side note, Im gett my uber money for my I head swap friday so who really care's lol

Or, the timing is off, you ran rich, filled the cat with furl, burned up said cat, pressure used melted cat stuff to plug exhaust when you get on the throttle, when there is not as much pressure, the chunks don't plug the hole.

if it was just a clogged cat which is possible you would notice it before you got to red line, as said timing should be suspect because of the glowing exhaust manifolds, make sure your timing isnt way retarded. do a vacuum test on the car to check for exhaust restrictions, if nothing is found, check the timing.

yes. timing would be my main suspect. ESP since you said you just did the head gasket. you may not have noticed the problem till you hit up the drift-track-parking-lot. it obviously isn't the muffler if you took it off and the problem persists... and i've seen cats break up inside and everything but never clog up bad enough to make the manifolds glow, but i imagine it is possible.

I've blown cat innards out on the freeway because of a run rich and misfire issue.
