    A rant...

Anyone that "fixes" a bad C191 connector by splicing doesn't deserve to ever have a car any better that a rusted out 80's Trablant. The only acceptable fix is to splice in a replacement from a salvage yard harness or to get new a connector and pins from BMW. The connector is there so that the intake manifold need not be removed to change the fuel rail connector bar or the engine harness. Splicing defeats that piece of engineering!
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

How about fixing it by swapping in an early harness?
