will idle but stalls when revved

I recently converted my 90 325i from an auto to a 5 spd and now it seems like the car is taking a very long time to relearn the system.

At first it would idle up and down like it was learning which made sense, and then it would idle smoothly on its own but when revved it would drop back down and stall. It ran fine otherwise but I would have to keep the revs up at stops or drop it down smoothly to let it idle.

Any ideas? Experiences with anything like that?

Sounds like it could be an intake leak to me, at least that is the place to start. A smoke test of the intake will quickly tell if there are intake leaks and where they are.

i put an afe cone air filter on it, i was thinking that maybe i should return it back to the stock box then go from there.

check idle mixtures with AFM

could also be a buggered FPR, easy way to see is if its leaking fuel out the back of it.
my car had a buggered FPR showed those symptoms

ill check but ive talked to a couple people and it seems to just be the relearning procedure due to battery disconection.

i actually picked up a spare FPR last month so im good there



anyone know the proper relearning procedure?

The time for the DME to re-learn the engine, if it is working properly, is measured in minutes, not days. You have an underlying problem and my best guess would be an intake leak.
