so i was driving my 85 325es and i stalled out and started it back up and noticed this really loud noises while i was driving, then stopped and started it again and went away. i went to drive it later than it did it again and i noticed that the key was stuck in the start motor position and the starter was constantly starting. so i stopped it then tried starting it again and nothing would happen.
I checked all the wiring and couldn't find anything and i'm pretty sure since its a five speed it doesn't have a relay it just goes strait to the solenoid. when i turn the key all i hear is the fuel pump and that starter isn't even clicking.
So my thought is that it fried the solenoid possibly cause it is the original 25 year old starter.
But I'm open to any other thought or comments please helps
