Engine starts, then dies

I can start the motor, maybe 4 to 10 revs before it dies. if i touch the accelerator the car dies. Any idea what it could be

I would check the rubber intake boot for cracks, Beyond that I would look at a binding/malfunctioning airflow meter, and then checking the fuel pressure.

I had the same problem with my '86 eta. It was just the faulty fuel pump relay. It is the middle one out of the three on the drivers side bay.

Intake leaks or a fuel delivery issue are the most likely causes, with a faulty AFM in third place.
