    Should i buy this?

So i have a lead on a motor for my e30. i dont' need one, and my car runs pretty good the way it is. I have 150k miles on my car and powertrain, but this offer seems really good.

Should i buy this? I just dont' know if it's worthwhile.

I'm not looking for a crazy performance car, I just want a nice clean setup for my 88 325is where i know it'll last for many more years.

    thanks

I really dont' need the tranny (maybe) and I also dont' need the cluster, etc. (could sell them as I dont' need them)

"professionally rebuilt M20B25 Motor with only 4K miles on it. The Engine was originally purchased from Joel at EuroDepot several years ago. Then it underwent a professional and documented $4700 rebuild at Hoffman BMW in Montclair NJ. No expense was spared rebuilding this motor. It also includes a Sachs performance clutch with 4K miles on it as well as a very tight 5 speed transmission. Also included is an oil cooler with all the necessary lines as well as a K&N filter mount. Complete wiring harness, driveshaft, uxhaust downpipe, and High RPM instrument cluster to conver a 325e into a 325i. Thanks for visiting."

I would say $ 600 is a more than decent price for an m20 especially if it has been rebuilt. Get some more details while you're at it. I mean for $4700 what was " rebuilt" ?

At that price I don't see how you could pass on it. That is about what one would usually wind up paying for just a junk yard motor.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

After chatting with the owner of the engine he indicated that the motor was completely rebuilt with new pistons, rings, timing set, water pump etc. Everything was done back to OEM specs, with the addition of a performance chip Nothing was really done to the trans.

Here's the sticky part. The stuff is all in NJ, and I'm in Alberta, Canada. Anyone know the process for shipping a setup like this to Canada? any ballpark guestimates on the shipping costs?

          thanks in advance

idk man, that seems a little sketch to me. if he dropped $4700 on a rebuild, why would he sell it for $600?? and it will probably cost quite a bit to ship a motor that far
