    Think I found something elce wrong with the car

    I was having a look in my e30 320i. Under the power streering reservoir there is a black cylinder with two hoses running out of the top. The cylinder his no no bottem to it, just more really dirty sponge sticking out if it.

    Any idea what this is? All i can tell is it looks broken and its very dirty

    Sounds like your fuel evaporator canister.

          is it ment to be a sealed unit? Do I need a new one? I have no idea what this Activated carbon filter is mean to do the only if i can find is on makeing vodka lol

            Just get rid of it and plug up the ends the hoses were coming from.

              Replace it or leave it, plugging up the vent to a gas tank is a bad idea as it can pressurize and create leaks elsewhere.
