    FcpGordon Timing belt kit

Has anyone used this kit? The price seems to bee too good. Are this parts of questionable quality or is it just a good deal. Sorry not sure what the pricing is like have not worked on e30 in years.

Generally, all their stuff is cheaper and of lower quality than some of the name brand parts. Don't get me wrong, they seem to be at least decent, but you can tell it's not OEM right away. I've had a set of their control arms and brake lines on my cars for a couple of months now and have no complaints. For timing belts, I paid the extra smidge for name brands.

Thanks for the feedback, does anyone make a complete kit for the car, so I don;t have to hunt down all the parts.

Your link didn't work for me, try this peoples : http://www.fcpgroton.com/product-exe...ategory_id/563

Anyways that looks like a good deal, although getting the bare essentials probably wouldn't be much more from RMeuropean or AutohausAZ. Bare essentials would be Timing belt, tensioner, water pump, gasket (although water pump should come with one whether it says so or not)

If cam seal isn't leaking you can leave it, thermostat is a 10 minute job anyways so if it's not giving you problems you don't have to touch it. If any of your belts are looking old do those too.

If I was gonna order the FCP groton kit I would DEFINITELY call them before hand and at least ask what the brand of the timing belt, tensioner, and water pump is, then check back in this thread if any of them sound questionable. I've only used continental/contitech or whatever timing components and have never had a problem. Graf, Geba are fine for the water pump

I've ordered from there with good results. I had similar questions about what brands when I was ordering so I called and asked them.

^^ one of the best. great deal, great company, great guy.

And yeah, for FCPGroton, definitely call. I ordered a "OEM" head gasket, asked what kind it was gunna be and he said "goatze" shows up and its a elring =/

The belt and tensioner you want is the Contitech. I usually get the kit from Bimmerworld. If the cam seal needs to be replaced I always get that seal and the o-ring from my dealer.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Just so everyone knows, if you want to make substitutions in any kit for manufacturers of your choice, you're always free to do so. I do it all the time. Just give me a call.
