Once you pull the intake manifold once it gets much easier. The first time I did it, it was a bitch. Then I forgot to put the damn tube in first and had to pull the manifold again, much easier once you know how to go about it. I also used the zip tie method.

Changing tube of death?

Bumping this oldish thread cause I am finishing this job now. I replaced the following:
All coolant hoses
Thermostat housing and thermo
Coolant temp sensor, (the blue one)
Intake gaskets
Throttle body gasket
Oil return tube seals (zip tie method works)
Spark plugs
VC gasket
All vacuum hoses
Definately the hardest part seems to be unbolting/bolting the 12 intake manifold fasteners. Aligning the mani was hard, but I was alone without help, 101 outside in the sun. I have the mani on but not completly bolted up yet. Still a bit to go.
Any suggestions on making the rest of the job easier? I have the bitch tube in already.. LOL. It really wasn't much problem but getting the zip ties ON was a bitch.sigpic 1987 325is
