    Spark Plug Analysis help

Plugs were in for 1 year, around 7000 miles. Replaced with Bosch Copper Tops. Bottom end has 200,000 miles. Cylinder 1 and 5, dont have a clean burn. Are my rings bad in those 2 cylinders? Any other info gained from looking at the plugs?

The information that I gain from those plugs is that you need compression and leak down numbers for the engine (cold and hot). It looks to me like 1,3,4,5 are blacker than they should be. That could be from any of a number of reasons and the compression and leak down tests are the starting point in the diagnosis.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      Thnx jlevie.
Pic of the other side. I would love to have compression #'s and a leak down test done.

You could always send in a sample of your engine oil to a lab. Fuel dilution, contaminants, wear metals, viscosity etc can tell you a lot about the condition of your engine.

One side of the plug black and the other normal is a bit strange. Before hazarding a guess as to the cause I'd want the compression and leak down numbers. It doesn't cost all that much to have the tests run.
