    wierd idle

Today when I pulled up to a stop light and put in the clutch my engine began idleing very oddly. The idle was going up and down lower than normal. At the next light however it didn't do this. I did notice however, that when I stopped the engine idled at a hundred or so rpm higher than usual then dropped to normal. I'm not sure what is causing this. I know when I turn on the a/c it idles a fair ammount higher and is much louder but still runs. The enigine is very strong and only has around 80k on it. The clutch isn't to old but I wonder if that is the problem. Any help appreciated.

Intake leaks, a sticky ICV, a bad TPS, or more likely a combination of those are the cause.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Cool I'll check those, it is odd though because I haven't ever heard it do this unless I let out on the clutch to soon then mash it back in to save it.

My 325e had a busted TPS unit and idled at 3000!, I used the penny trick...where I drilled a hole in a penny, and placed it in the adjoining hose to the TPS unit....idles perfectly at 700. not a perm fix...

Mine fluctuates between 700 and 1100 or so, it's not that high.

the icv is the same as the idle air stabilizer valve correct? and the tps is the same as the idle and full throttle switch correct?
