    HELP...turning crank/camshaft for valve adj.

I am in the process of trying to adjust my valves. How the heck do you turn the camshaft in an automatic.

Have you tried putting the trans in neutral and using the crank nut on the bottom front of the motor?

    Cheers,

      Camshaft

Too hard to get to crank. Took cap off and am able to turn via a socket on the camshaft pulley bolt. Do you happen to know the valve clearances.

This is a REALLY bad idea, that will stress the T belt!! Especially if the plugs are still in...

Don't know what year you have but look into using the diagnostic connector to bump the starter.

          Turnining the camshaft

I certainly took out the plugs and it all turned over fairly easily. Will try something diifferent next time.

            Method 1:
Jack up the front of the car and use a wrench on the crank bolt from underneath. Having a helper makes this pretty easy.

            Method 2:
Rig a push button switch to pins that will fit the diag connector and bump the starter.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
