water pump, tensioner, & fan clutch

if these get bad and started to get noisy...

would you hear sounds when the engine is cold or when it gets hot?

trying to track down squealing and hissing sound when my car gets hot. sounds louder on a hot afternoon day and quiets down on cool nights?

sounds perfect on a cold start, starts to make sounds after 3-4 miles.

That noise could be from any of the rotating parts on the front of the engine. Remove the belts when the engine is hot and spin each part to see if you can detect a noisy bearing. If none of the external parts seem suspect, replace the timing belt and tensioner.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

grab a wooden broom handle or a rubber hose that you can put up to your ear (so at least an inch diameter) and use that as a stethoscope in case you dont have a real one. Touch the one end of your ghetto stethoscope to the alternator housing and other parts of the engine while it is running, I diagnosed that the bearings in my alternator are noisy and that my steering pump is noisy by this method.

I had a water pump fail on a VW and it whined like a supercharger on its way out, then I had one fail on a 240sx and it didnt make any distinct sound.
