    "i" to "e" swap

I'm sure this is somewhere out there on the net, but I don't have the time to look for it. There's a company based out of CA called Bavarian Auto Recycling (bmrparts.com) that offers full, tested longblocks for sale. My main question is: will all of the "i" engine accessories, p/s, A/C, alternator, intake mani, oil filter, ECU, wiring harness, etc. work with the 2.7 "e" motor? Also are the transmissions interchangeable? I ask because the "e" motors that they sell are much cheaper than the "i" motors. NEED TO KNOW ASAP!!!!

    Thanks,

    Josh

There is a reason why the E motor is cheaper.

I am aware of the deficiencies of the E compared to the I. Torque is more important to me anyways and if II can always need this car to last another 2 years through college. Still looking for an answer.

Do you have an E transmission? Well I guess you edited your first post. If you have an i car with a blown M20b25, you can't use that transmission with a replacement e engine. Plus the DME and other junk will be different too. I am sure you can find someone on here with an i motor on the cheap. Like a few hundred dollars cheap.

              engine swap

i have a 325i that i want to do the 2.7 block to get the low compression. i finally found a 1989 es block and im wondering if the es block will work and will it bolt up 2 a 89 325i head. and will the pistons on the es block still be low comp. on my 2.5 head.
