tranny, diff swap ???

i have an 84 318i auto, also have an 89 325i which body is toast. Any way to use anything from the 325i on my 318? i was wondering differential (which to keep?) also any 5 speed parts that i can keep for the 318i? i just wish i could use the entire 5 speed swap and pop it onto my 318. Need to trash this car soon so i just want to swap all i can drivetrain wise.

Swap everything from the radiator to the differential. There'll be some work adapting the wiring but the rest would just bolt in.

the only thing i cant swap is the engine, it has low compression, so i was hoping i could use anything from drivetrain/engine.

I don't think that transmission will mate up with the engine in your 318, which is why I suggested swapping the entire power train.
