i was messing with my car today. i was looking at the front in the grill, and i saw a black electric fan. now the thing is i want to get rid of the crank-driven fan. can some one tell me wht the ele. fan is for, and if tht fan is working do i need the crank fan? THANX in advance!

The fan in front of the radiator is known as the aux fan. Its purpose is to provide additional airflow when A/C is in use and the car is stopped or moving slowly. The main airflow for engine cooling is provided by the engine driven fan. The engine driven fan can be replaced by an electric fan, but the cost of doing so correctly exceeds the cost of replacing the engine driven fan with all new parts.

On a race car, replacing the engine driven fan makes sense. It doesn't on a street car, especially if the car has a working A/C system.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Put a lower temp fan switch and you can run just on the aux fan, works fine in 100*+ california heat.

Sorry missed your other post, I am using a 75c thermostat, 80/88 fan switch. I am also using a Mishimoto radiator and it runs a bit on the cool side so I am going to swap out the 75c thermostat and try an 80* one.

Do you have a 3 pin one or 2 pin?

Here is one from Pelican for the 3 pin one I am using

BMP is probably selling the same one, Part # for fan switch is 61-31-8-361-787

Thank you, I have always had turbos in the past and this is the first SC. This SC has worked out well and I like the power delivery but is boost limited.
