    m20 stall out after revving

Hey guys i have a 89 320i. I have a reoccouring problem off hard to start, ie Cranks for about 5 seconds before starting sometimes, and also when i rev it up and lift off. It doesnt recover most the time. It just stalls right out. I've replaced the o2 sensor, injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter, checked the icv and cleaned out the afm. Any other ideas?

Check your throttle position sensor (TPS) and your idle control valve. Bentley has the details on checking the TPS with a meter.

Tps is fine. I reset the dme. As i have 19lb injectors/new 02 sensor/ new coolant sensor. I reset the dme and the problem re-occoured gave it a big drive and its fine now. The original mapping must not be able to handle the extra juice from 19lb injectors so the computer relearns to the new injectors. Also the fuel issue still occurs occasionally. I did find the hose going to the fuel filter had split allowing fuel pressure to leak out over night.

If you don't have software for your larger injectors that is 90% of the problem right there.

19lb type 2 injectors are fine for motronic 1.1. Once the ecu has re-learnt them. The issue is that there isn't any added power as the ecu doesn't realise that it has a higher flow rate or better atomization.
