well theres a guy parting out his 318is and he has the ford 3" mass air flow sensor wired in. works same as the miller maf sensor kit for the e30. the ford 3" maf sensor is diy that idk how to wire up. idk if you can just take one and wire it up to the maf sensor clip or if theres more to it.

There's more to it; the wiring is more just for the 12v need by the MAF. the afm only uses 6v, I have a war chip/maf mod.. You can learn alot just by going to there site and
reading the manuals... in the pdf. files, and the forum it free to read. No need to sign up.
The wire mod is easy. basic just cut the 6v and tap in to a 12v lead in to the ECU
If I remeber right I think it's cut pin 12 and tip in to pin 37?
But the problem is that the ECU is looking for info from the AFM and can't tell you running a maf it'll start and idle but that's it.. You'll need to find a chip that can correct the problem.. If the guy's running this he must? have the chip to offer as well..
Did he run it or just pick it up from a yard?
But it's worth it fucking awsome Mod.. Totally brought my M20b25 to life...
          hope this helps
