I wouldn't buy used mounts, 90% chance they're shit. Just buy new.

    I'm really looking into this.

i had no choice but to drive over a large chunk of concrete in the middle of my lane back when i had my e30. it smashed into my skidplate and my car kinda bounced off it and over it, and that's it. i can't imagine the same would've happened without the skidplate.

My car is lowered on H&R races with Billie sports and i drive it like its the general lee. Never even put a scratch on the pan after 2 years of abuse.

Agreed. Both of my cars are what I'd consider low (3.5" and 3" from ground) and I've never broken a pan.

My exhaust is very low on my 318is and scrapes everywhere, but much to my dismay the oilpan still has a few close call scratches on it.

    vveerry interesting kind sir!

while it DOES give you more ground clearence. i personally fear i would not like to give up the use of a strut bar or do anything to raise such a large weight in the car upward. i assume that it would have an adverse effect on the handling of the car.

you sir, have provided an excellent responce to the OP's question. i feel you are owed a round of standing, rowdy, applause accompanied by whistles and shouting!

i dont realy see an issue with a low oil pan though, unless you crash into a curb or you're stupid slammed, the oil pan never hits. its the exhaust that scrapes. my 318i is slammed, and i DD it everywhere, and i have never smacked the oil pan but like once, and it was because my springs are way to soft for my low, and it has the notoriously low m42 oil pan. if you have trouble with busting oil pans, just get a skid plate.

e36 motor mounts and an early cars throttle body. Of course you would have to delete cruise control and a strut bar would never fit but clearance is awesome. Castro did the work for me so im not too sure on the details
