    Alpina b3 2.7 Chip

Just installed this chip...(Authentic or not...) Bought from a fellow member here and was wondering if anyone else got the 900 or so RPM..idle.I searched around and it seemed like 900rpm at idle is normal. Just wanna make sure.

    Specs:
    2.7i Stroker Build
    I Head
    I Injectors
    M20 AFM
    Air Ram Intake
    Custom Catback Exhaust
    173 ecu with Alpina B3 2.7 Chip.

yea about 900rpm.. who did u get the chip off? wondering because i didnt think there were too many floating around out there. i have one but it doesnt really do any good for my 2.5 up in the higher revs, makes more torque than stock but less top end HP, only really suitable for strokers and possibly 2.5's with BBTB/cam/exhaust/etc.

        Currently E30-less

Its funny you posted your the guy I was searching around about the Alpina Chip and found out the information from. I bought it from a local guy here on the forums. He said he bought it new with his other buddy awhile back for their stroker build. But he never finished. Authentic or not I feel the difference.

probably not a genuine B3 chip but a copy is the same thing.. only difference are the fingers that put the label on tbh.

u can get them on english ebay for 35gbp, emailed the guy today asking if its an original chip or a "homemade" one, this is what he replied.

Yes it is an exact copy of the Original Alpina chip. Idle is a little higher + the injector duration is longer between gear shifts holding the revs momentarily . I worked out years ago how to alter the rev limit in the code.
