    TPS compatability

I think my TPS is going out.. I used to have reallly screwy idle with "floating" RPM's.. I replaced the TPS with one I found at the junkyard and the problem was 80% solved.. It still screws up from time to time though so I'm thinking the one I installed is also a bit screwy..

Can I use a TPS from any M20? I found one from a M20 b27 at the junkyard (I have a b25), would that work? The last 3 numbers on the cover are 301 I believe.. It was also filled with a crapload of oil and some water it looked like, but I cleaned it out with some carb cleaner.. Think it'll work?

I'll probably end up buying a brand new one at some point, but I plan to upgrade to the M30 throttle body at some point and I don't know what TPS I'm going to have to use with that. I definitely don't want to spend $60 on a brand new TPS now if I am just going to use a different one down the road.. Do you use the M20 TPS on an M30 throttle body??

Oil or water will kill the switches in the TPS. The junkyard part might work, but it would be best to get a new one
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I can hear the switch clicking so I think it's working correctly.. Ill just keep it as a spare since I got it free anyways. Mine is working pretty well but I'm getting a Miller MAF in the mail soon and apparently they are much more sensitive to a faulty TPS.. I guess we'll see what happens.

Any idea what TPS you use when upgrading to M30 throttle body? I would think the m20 tps but I need to make sure.
