    Which is the coolant temp sensor

    Ok i NEED help.... i want to replace my Coolant temp. sensor, i've read that these are supposed to be colour differentiated buuut..well..mine seem different to what's been reported.
    In the pic below (if it works)...the red circled plug has a brown female connection....and the blue circled female connection is black..is this perhaps normal for Australian imports of the 1986 325e...can anyone point me in the right direction in regards to which one i should take out..

    Pull the plugs. one contact is for the gauge, two contacts is for the DME. I believe they have the same thread, so you can't be certain unless you look.

      When i checked them im pretty sure the top one had only one contact (but i WILL check again)...and, please excuse my naivety, the DME is what im looking for to replace right?
