I am looking at buying a rebuilt AFM. I have seen rebuilt units from companies called Python for ($150) and A1 Cardone ($125). I searched and found a thread on e30 tech where someone claims they returned an A1 Cardone AFM twice due to idle and CEL issues. I am still willing to try one despite one persons bad experience (perhaps their car had wiring issues or otherwise). Does anyone have any experience with a rebuilt AFM or know what they do? It would be great if they checked the spring tension or replaced the spring and replaced the resistance track at bare minimum but I really dont know what they do for the rebuilding process.
Has anyone bought a rebuilt AFM?

I have never had any issues with it.@IRON-E30 aka Edwin:D -
Cardone has typically been shit product: they brag about their profit margins. That alone make them junk.Comment

I didnt like how on their website they market how shops can reduce the number of comebacks by purchasing Cardone products. That screams "el cheapo parts to-get the car running long enough to sell it so some other poor soul" I might give Python a call and see what their rebuild process entails.Comment
