I have a E30 with a turbo m20 swap. it used to be a 318i. The car is not getting spark and the fuse for the fuel pump is not getting power. The relay is getting power but one of the wires is not getting a ground if i jump the ground the pump turns on but still no spark when i try and start it. What would cause an m20 to not get spark and cause the fuel pump to not turn on?

timing data to the DME is the CPS, or reference sensor on the flywheel for early models.
you can test for power at DME pin 18, which should come directly from the battery and through the fusible link. it should have power all the time. the fusible link could be bad. with the main relay on, i believe power then comes to pin 37.
the start signal to the DME comes from the ignition switch.
there's not really an easier way to check the DME than to just exchange it for a known working one.
Where in St. Pete are you? There's not many turbo m20's around here, I'd like to check out your car.
