    325es head swap

So! First and foremost pleased to meet you all! I'm Abe currently rockin a 87 325es. Here is my project...

I want to make a hybrid motor. I have the 325es motor currently in my car. I've heard of " i ' head conversions in order to get a higher redlining motor. 65k is obviously a lot better than 47k...

Things I'm sure about: I going to need a "I" head and a new computer and instrument cluster.

Things I'm unsure about: fluid path being the same setup, distributer, difficulty of DiY, and other things that currently escape my mind...

    Fire away...

    There, I'm done.
    -Abe.

You will need the following parts from an M20B25:

    Head
    Intake manifold & throttle body
    AFM
    Engine harness
    DME
    Crank Position sensor & mount
    Ignition wire set
    Injectors & FPR
    Tachometer or complete cluster

Depending on what car you get the harness from, some modification of it may be required. The engine harness from a 9/86-8/87 will work as-is. A later harness requires modification to work on your 87 car.

If you are going to go to that much work, I'd suggest transplanting a complete M20B25 engine in, which will make more power than what you are contemplating.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
