m20b25/m20b27 mixed together....help!!!

i have a 1988 325i convertible with the the m20b25

the bottom end is knocking and needs replaced, so my question is....


1.can the 2.7 bottom end be ran with the 2.5 head?

2.does this add power or remove power?

i found a good 2.7 engine for 100 bucks so i thought this would be a quick fix.....

I'm not one to just post "search" but this question is asked almost daily. Just search for "stroker" which in my opinion is a false term for this but will get you plenty of info.
